Nandan Nilekani joins Reuters as non-exec director

Nandan Nilekani, chief executive and one of the founders of Indian technology consultant Infosys Technologies Ltd., has been appointed to the board of news and information provider Reuters Group Plc.

Reuters said on Wednesday that Nilekani, 51, would start on Jan. 1, 2007, and be part of the audit committee.

He becomes the board's thirteenth member and its ninth non-executive member.
